A Historical Perspective on Dingo Attacks in Australia

A fascinating paper was published last year (2022) in the Journal: Animals. Titled Before Azaria: A historical perspective on dingo attacks. The paper was written by Adam Brumm from the Australian Research Centre for Human Evolution, Griffith University. The paper investigates the origin of the once-popular belief (and misconception) in Australian society that wild dingoes do not attack humans.

Successful Partnership Preserves Butchulla Scarred Tree

A quick response from BAC Directors, Butchulla members and Land and Sea rangers, QPWS rangers and the Coastal and Islands teams means a significant scarred tree near Central Station on K’gari will be preserved well into the future.

K’gari Fish Health

In April 2021, as part of the federal government’s Wildlife and Habitat Bushfire Recovery Program, rapid on-ground ecological surveys of the distribution and abundance of priority threatened species were undertaken to determine the extent and severity of threats to habitats and populations.
