As another busy year came to an end on the FINIA website, it was time to reflect on the remarkable digital journey FINIA has continued to take with provider WordPress.
This year we had 16,518 page views, as searchers engaged with our content – a testament to the website’s ongoing appeal and reach.
In 2023, we added 35 new articles (posts) to the website. The website now has a total of 421 posts archived on the website since its launch in May 2011. You can check them all out here.
The articles received five likes and two comments on the website – with many more shares and likes on FINIA’s Facebook page.
July 19 was FINIA’s best online day in 2023, with 1% of all visits for the year, our day in the digital spotlight.
Other than FINIA’s home page – our top five articles over the last 12 months were:
- Blackberry nightshade – environmental weed (1278 views)
- Postan’s logging camp revisited (1257 views)
- A plant out of place – the beach almond (931 views)
- What to do if you get stung by an Irukandji? (755 views) and
- New wongari safety sticks for island walkers (701).
Our most popular recent (2023) articles were: A Historical Perspective on Dingo Attacks in Australia (36 views), Pest Spotters: Watch out for Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA)! Spanning continents, FINIA resonates with an international audience. Your articles are read around the world in 175 countries to date. Most of our readers in 2023 came from Australia, The United States, Indonesia, and India.
Facebook.com continues to be a major contributor to our site’s traffic, a nod to our targeted SEO and marketing efforts. WordPress will continue to host our site in 2024, with an almost perfect 99.999% uptime, keeping the FINIA website live and accessible for 525,594 minutes out of 525,600 this year.
That’s a year to be proud of all round.
