The Fraser Coast Waste Strategy 2019-2029 was adopted in July 2019 as a practical roadmap to reduce waste going to landfill and transition to a more circular economy by recovering and recycling more.

It is now due for its first comprehensive review, and the Council is inviting the community to have a say on the current strategy to help us assess whether the 10-year plan remains aligned with Council priorities, community needs, and the latest state and national waste strategies.

Have your say on the Fraser Coast Waste Strategy

Council’s community engagement will run from mid-January to mid-February 25.

There are six fact sheets available including Waste Strategy Factsheet 5 – K’Gari Waste Management which is specific to K’gari’s current waste management. Information displays will be at the Urangan Pier Markets on Saturday 8 and 15 February from 8am to 12pm.

Fraser Coast residents are being invited to have their say on the future of waste management to support a growing community, protect the environment and create economic opportunities with an online survey for your feedback. Article adapted from Fraser Coast Regional Council’s website
